Festival des Chœurs Lauréats
Vaison - la - Romaine
Fondateur : Marcel CORNELOUP

We have the pleasure to welcome you on the “Chœurs Lauréats” Festival official site!
In 1993, on Mr Jacques DELORS’s request ( Chairman of the European Commission ), and under Mr Marcel CORNELOUP ( Chairman of the International A Coeur Joie society ) and Mr Claude HAUT ( the Vaison-la-Romaine Mayor of the time ), the “Chœurs lauréats” Festival was created to give the main city of the Vaison area its true name of “European Choral Singing City”.
Every year its special partnership with the “European Grand Prix” Association ( Arezzo / Debrecen / Maribor / Tolosa / Tours / Varna ) gives us the opportunity, thanks to the guest choirs, all prize winners of these famous contests, to enhance the worldwide “top of the range polyphonic” skills well appreciated by everyone : not less than 75 choirs among the World top ones from 33 countries have been performing in our concerts for 28 years, in front of a large, receptive and motivated audience.
We wish to give our special thanks for the regular support given to the Festival (by the Vaison-la-Romaine Council, as well as the Vaucluse and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region Councils), making it possible for all these incredible groups to tour around Provence and Vaucluse as well as in Drôme provençale and sometimes beyond...
Our Festival emphasizes Vaison-la-Romaine's specificity in the vocal and choir expression field, be it nationally in France only or internationally.
